The Picturesque Devils Dyke

Service Description

Meeting at Hassocks Train Station. We will hike directly into the South Downs National Park picking up part of the South Downs Way that stretches from Winchester to Eastbourne. We will trek up onto the ancient ridgeline looking over the Sussex Weald as we head West towards Devils Dyke. Devil’s Dyke is the second highest point in the whole of the National park therefore the views are fabulous and well known by local landscape photographers. After taking in the views we head East to Ditchling Beacon, an ancient hill fort and the third highest point in the national park. We will then head back along the ridge, with 360-degree views of the surrounding countryside and coast, passing the Jack and Jill Windmills as we return to Hassocks station. Hike time approx. 7hrs. Breaks 1hr. Distance 24km/15Miles.
