The Long man, Friston & Cuckmere

Service Description

Meeting at Wilmington Priory car park in the South Downs National Park. We will hike towards the mysterious Long Man of Wilmington. After a steady climb to the peak near the ancient burial grounds with stunning views we then head South East picking up some of the South Downs Way. We stroll through Lullington Heath National Nature Reserve before heading into the tranquillity of Friston Forest. Within the shelter of this expansive forest we stop for much needed lunch. We then head out to the open hills over the majestic Seven Sisters cliffs with views over the English Channel. Depending on the conditions we will either carry on along the cliffs before heading North along the river Cuckmere or take a shorter walk along the cliffs then head to the forest for refuge. Finally, we hike through the Saxon village of Litlington before heading back East towards the hills for one last climb before getting back to the Wilmington priory car park. Cancelation Policy

Evening fitness hikes - to cancel or reschedule evening fitness hikes please give us at least 24 hours notice in advance. Day hikes - to cancel or reschedule day hikes we require 48 hours in advance. Multi day tours - please discuss with staff. Whilst we will do our best to accommodate changes this depends on how far in advance we have been given notice in relation to our payments to third party suppliers i.e accommodation etc.
