Finchdean Sussex Border Path Hike

Service Description

We begin by crossing St Michael and All Angels Churchyard, and follow the Staunton Way / Sussex Border Path across the high, open fields. If there's bad weather, we'll be feeling it here! Continuing through the fields (it can get a little muddy here), we drop into Finchdean and then circle back north across the South Holt Wildlife Sanctuary. Some steady tarmac road allows us to pick up the pace as we start climbing through the edge of the trees, re-joining Staunton Way for the final stretch and a steep uphill home. This is one of our easier walks, great for beginner level or a recovery day. Bonus feature: a glimpse of St. Hubert’s Church or 'the Little Church in the Field', which has captured the imagination for its splendid solitary position, and long history since its original build in the 9th century for the nearby Saxon settlement. Time approx: Within 3 hours depending on group fitness levels. 10km. Evening fitness hikes - to cancel or reschedule evening fitness hikes please give us at least 24 hours notice in advance. Day hikes - to cancel or reschedule day hikes we require 48 hours in advance. Multi day tours - please discuss with staff. Whilst we will do our best to accommodate changes this depends on how far in advance we have been given notice in relation to our payments to third party suppliers i.e accommodation etc.
