Service Description
Probably the toughest hike of the series. Starting at Ditchling recreation ground car park we head south for a 20 minute or so brisk walk as a warmup. We then head up our own ‘special path’ taking us to the top of the third highest point of the South Downs. It’s hard work but the view from the top is a great reward. We will then head West along part of the South downs way before dropping back down again so we can enjoy another challenging hike up to the top. After a breather at the peak, we head back East at a brisk pace giving time for a talk and a bit of team bonding. Finally, we drop back halfway down before either ascending again over a ridgeline or going up over an old disused quarry before heading back to the car park. This hike, as far as small hikes go, will push you. For the winter season there will be a shortened version covering 7.5/8km. Time: approx 3 1/2 hrs (summer) 2 hours (winter). Distance: 12km (Summer) 8km (Winter). Included – Local Knowledgeable Guide/Guides and support. Not Included: transport or Food Meeting Point: Ditchling recreation ground car park, ditchling village, bn6 8ty. Bring: Water and snacks, long trousers, jumper/jacket, head torch. If you dont have a torch please let us know in advance and one can be loaned. Meeting Time: 1830.
