Service Description
Stay in a delightful farmhouse at the base of the majestic Brecon Beacons for three nights. Each person/couple has their own room with double bed - there is one room with two single beds. Friday night: Arrival, welcome drinks and dinner provided. Chat and relax in the lounge by the wood burner with some music. Saturday: Early rise, cooked breakfast and short drive to start location for the Brecon Beacons horseshoe ridge walk. This is a challenging 10 miles hiked over a 6-8 hour period (depending on group fitness etc). We will take in the views (if the weather is good) and hike over Graig y Fan Ddu ridge towards Corn Du. From this peak we then take on Pen y Fan, Cribyn and if energy allows Fan y Big. These are the primary peaks of the Brecon Beacons. There is a reason that Special Forces train in this region... its challenging. However, it's a great start to hitting the mountainous areas of the UK. There aren't any technical ascents/roped climbs on this route albeit there is a need for plenty of energy and humour. Once we finish we head back to the farmhouse for much needed food, wine and relaxation. Sunday: Rise, maybe not so early as Saturday, breakfast and short drive to start location for a circular walk in waterfall country. The distance is approximately 4.5 miles, which will be a welcome shorter walk after the yomping from the previous day. However, the waterfall walk is still a good challenge over the shorter distance and will reward the senses. After we return a nice group meal will be cooked for an evening of nice food and wine. Monday: Early rise, breakfast and leave before 9am. Included: • Accommodation 1 x Shared room with 2x single beds = £315 per person. 4 x Double Room 1 bed = £350 individual/£630 for two sharing. Deposit £130 with the balance due 9 weeks prior to trip. • Quality food, both vegan and meat options will be provided. Breakfast, lunch, dinner. Evening snacks and wine. • Wilderness first aid and qualified guide. Emergency shelters and cooking equipment as necessary. Not included: • Transport • Personal Snacks • Clothing i.e waterproof jackets. Come prepared for unpredictable mountain weather. Waterproofs, a whistle and torch are all essential for this walk, as the weather is very changeable in these mountains. Also, decent hiking shoes or boots are necessary.
